Reiny's Office Pool 2000 - How to Play

The Football Pool will consist of 2 separate pools:

        1. Weekly Pool
        2. Seasonal Pool
    1. Weekly Pool: The object of this pool is to have the most points each week. The weekly winner will be determined by the person(s) having the most points. If there is a tie between 2 or more people, there will be a tiebreaker system in effect. This tiebreaker will be the Total Points* for the Monday Night Football Game. The person coming closest to the Total Points will be the winner. If after this, there is still a tie, then the poolmember with the MOST wins for that week will be the winner. If there is still a tie, then the pool will be divided equally amongst the 2 (or more) tied players. The number of players will determine the amount of winnings to be paid out.

Making your Picks: The pool uses a confidence point system where you will place a Confidence point factor for each game. This point system is dependent on the number of games for that week (i.e. If 15 games, then Confidence points are from 1-15).

First, pick the teams which you feel are going to WIN. Use whatever strategy works best for you. Then go back a place a point value next to each game placing the highest point value on the game you feel most confident will WIN. Work your way down until you have used each number only once. You can only use a number once, so choose wisely.

Entering your Weekly Picks: There are 2 ways in which you may enter your picks each week.

The picksheets will be made available by Wed. of that week.

All pick sheets must be submitted by 11:00 a.m. Sunday. In the event of a Saturday game(s), all picks must be submitted no later than midnight on Friday. In the event of a Thursday game, you can submit just this game, but it must be in no later than 2 hours prior to kick-off. The balance of your picks can be submitted as outlined above.

If you fail to submit picks by then, default picks will be entered for you. The method in which they will be drawn will assure that you are still "in the game" for that week. All information (including weekly picks) will be stored on the Fox River Football Homepage.

    2. Seasonal Pool: The winner of this pool will be the person(s) who has the most points at the end of the 2000 Football Season. In event of a tie, a tiebreaker system will be used. The tiebreaker will be the person with the most WINS throughout the 2000 Season. If there is still a tie, then the person with the Lowest Monday Night Difference (average) will be the winner. If it is still a Tie, then the Pool Manager gets to keep it since the chances of a tie are very slim.

    Fees and Payoff:

As you can see, the more players, the higher the payout.
